Bastille Days Run/Walk Storms Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility

In the same spirit of the event which sparked the bloody French Revolution 233 years earlier, Milwaukee residents took to the streets and led a full-on assault against the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility. The rioters eventually captured the building, setting it’s prisoners free.

The Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility, or MSDF, has drawn controversy over the years and has even been compared to a dungeon.

“Of course we’re going to take revolutionary action,” said one rioter armed with a six-pack of Miller High Life fashioned into Molotov Cocktails, who asked not to be identified, “The worst thing I can think about doing in this day and age is sitting back and enjoying wine and cheese while the US houses 21% of the world’s prison population.”
