MILWAUKEE – The decision was made after years of debate over what to do with the dilapidated mall, which has been empty since 2003. The city council ultimately decided that the best course of action was to convert the mall into a series of abandoned apartments, citing the high demand for such properties in the area.
“Think about it,” said mayor Cavalier Johnson. “We’ll have plenty of space to run around, build forts, and have all sorts of adventures. And who needs electricity or running water anyway when you have your imagination?”
While the new development is still in its early stages, officials say that they are already seeing a high level of interest from prospective homeless tenants.
