MILWAUKEE,WI- Cream City’s art scene is buzzing with an auction result that smashed expectations this past weekend. A nude self-portrait of former Governor Scott Walker has sold at auction for $500,000. The life-size oil on canvas work, entitled “Portrait of the Artist as a Presidential Candidate”, was purchased by an anonymous bidder.
The former governor was delighted by the result. Speaking to reports outside his family home he said, “I haven’t felt this beautiful and validated since I broke the back of public education in our state.”
Proceeds from the sale are being donated to a conservative action committee, to fund a campaign to ban ethnically-diverse crayon colors in public schools.
