MADISON, WI- Governor Evers unveiled a new plan today to send raiding parties into Northern Illinois to scavenge for gasoline. Under the proposal, city governments can receive state grants to cover the cost of arming and outfitting vehicles for high-speed day raids. The new program, dubbed Max Max: Milwaukee Road, enjoys bipartisan support.
Senator Ron Johnson released a statement in support of the program stating in part, “This is a fresh approach to combating rising gas prices. We can bring free gasoline back to Wisconsin without raising taxes”.
Cudahy, Waukesha and Greenfield have already submitted initial applications for program funding. Governor Evers has pledged to have the first raiding parties ready in time for this year’s Earth Day celebrations.
