North Avenue-adjacent 24-hour diner Ma Fischer’s has officially changed their name to Fischer’s. The rebrand was announced this morning as signage was replaced and the iconic statue of Ma Fischer was removed.
Restaurant owners announced that this is a part of a larger business strategy of “growing the Fischer’s brand beyond that place you go for hash browns after getting kicked out of Landmark.” WNT staff reached out for further details on these plans, but no comment was given.
Fans of the curvaceous waitress mascot need not fret. The statue will return with a new, “gender-neutral” look evidenced by the already replaced menus which show Fischer without their former cleavage and long lashes.
What do you think about the change? We’d love to read your comments on social media.
