NEENAH – Attention all pilots attending AirVenture, Oshkosh’s annual fly-in: be on high alert for the treacherous Winnebago Quadrilateral. This mysterious area, similar to the infamous Bermuda Triangle, has claimed the lives of many aviators and middle aged fishermen over the years.
For those who don’t know. The Winnebago Quadrilateral is a spooky polygon nestled somewhere between the shores of Lake Winnebago that draws planes and seamen into its alluring grasp never to be seen again.
Larry Mansfield a fisherman from Stockbridge, regaled us with tales UFO’s, giant muskies, overweight mermaids and ships being pulled to the depths of a lake that’s on average 10 feet deep.
While these stories may seem far-fetched, it’s important for pilots to take safety seriously, even when flying in allegedly cursed quadrilaterals. Remember to always check your equipment before takeoff, stay alert, and follow proper protocol.
