SHEBOYGAN, WI- The good people of Sheboygan have once again put their beautiful city on Wisconsin’s cultural map. This weekend, an estimated 850 residents gathered together on the waterfront at Deland Park to set a new Guinness World record for the most people simultaneously staring in to the sun.
The Sheboygan Chamber of Commerce organized the event to highlight the strength and resiliency of the area’s work force. Chamber press secretary James Jones told WNT, “Today’s event highlights what makes Sheboygan’s work force so desirable for regional businesses. Our men and women won’t back down from a challenge.
Guinness World Records was on hand to certify the event as the largest group of people simultaneously staring in to the sun. The event’s jubilation was short-lived however, as all 850 participants were admitted to area hospitals almost immediately after the event was over.
