MUSKEGO, WI- The news broke shortly after Muskego’s school district reconsidered their selection of a book that delves into the U.S. incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II.
The book at issue in Muskego is When the Emperor Was Divine by Japanese-American author Julie Otsuka. The novel follows a Japanese American family incarcerated by the American government during World War II and could possibly be shelved for being “Unbalanced”.
