TEL AVIV- The Israeli government has announced that they will be accepting donations to tear down Palestinian hospitals that are in poor condition.
When asked for comment, an Israeli official stated, “We are committed to providing the best healthcare possible for all of our citizens, including those in the occupied territories. However, we cannot allow these hospitals to continue operating in such poor condition.”
Many are skeptical of this claim, and believe that the real motive behind the decision is to further entrench the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
Despite the backlash, the Israeli government has remained defiant, insisting that blowing up Palestinian hospitals is necessary to protect the safety and security of its citizens.
ON A SERIOUS NOTE:
It’s easy to joke around but the world can be a scary and dangerous place. It’s surreal watching these horrible events unfold right before our eyes, as we sit comfortably in our office. The world has never been more connected and as a result we all have a front row seat to the chaos. We pray for the people of Palestine who, for years, have been oppressed and mercilessly attacked by the Israeli government for the actions of a few. We pray for the victims of both ends of this conflict, that they may find peace in their time.
“We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Sometimes we must interfere. When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Wherever men or women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place must—at that moment—become the center of the universe.”
