LAS VEGAS – Swift, 34, won the trophy following the Kansas City Chiefs’ 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, making it the third time in her career that she’s won the honor.
Swift took home MVP in an overtime thriller where she scored a 34 yard game-winning touchdown in the final minutes of Super Bowl LVIII.
Swift was asked how she kept her cool to score the winning drive, and said “I just imagined the end-zone was my ex-boyfriend and the ball was me breaking up with them”. Patrick Mahomes praised her for “keeping her cool”.
Taylor became the first back-to-back Super Bowl MVP since Terry Bradshaw won it twice leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to consecutive wins in Super Bowl XIII and XIV in 1979 and 1980.
Swift was not at the ceremony to accept the award, as she and her boyfriend Travis Kelce, prepare to celebrate by diving into a room full of gold coins and jewels, much like Scrooge McDuck.
